Mahhkk Beer bread
I hate baking. This recipe is so easy, and SO delicious, that I've come back to it many times.

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 1 hour
Total Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
Servings: 1 loaf

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour sifted or spooned into a measuring cup
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 12 oz can beer
  • 1/2 cup butter melted

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  • Grease a loaf pan with butter or Pam
  • Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar together, and then mix in beer
  • Pour into greased loaf pan, leaving rough texture on top
  • Pour melted butter over mixture. If you're using unsalted butter, sprinkle a little extra salt on top
  • Bake about 1 hour, until crust on top is golden brown, remove from pan and cool for at least 15 minutes

Notes

A dark beer works well for this, like an Amber or Brown Ale. I used Bone Up Brewing's Ruby Rye and couldn't have been happier. Something like Smithwick's is still good but not as flavorful.
